Find Answers to Common Questions

We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide you with quick and helpful answers about our loan services.

What is a personal loan?

An unsecured personal loan is money borrowed from a lender that is not secured by property such as a house or car over a fixed period of time. While most loans through CreditPath are unsecured, certain credit unions may place a lien on other assets.

Will checking my rate affect my credit score?

+

Checking your rate on CreditPath will not affect your credit score. If you proceed with your application after receiving a rate, your credit score may be impacted. When you check your rate, we make a "soft credit inquiry."

Do I pay a fee if I pay off my loan early?

+

There is no prepayment penalty for paying off a loan on CreditPath early. You may pay off part or all of the loan at any time with no fee charged.

Can more than one person sign for a personal loan?

+

Yes, in some instances we do accept co-signers. Cosigners should be aware that becoming obligated on another person's loan is treated as a debt obligation and may impact their credit score.

Can I get a loan with bad credit?

+

Absolutely. We strive to connect you with lenders that specialize in bad credit financing. Our network includes lenders who work with various credit histories to find the best possible rates for you.

What are the requirements to apply?

+

You must be at least 18 years old, have a regular source of income, have an active checking account in your name, and be a US resident. Additional requirements may vary by lender.

How fast will I receive the funds?

+

If approved, funds are typically deposited directly into your bank account as soon as the next business day. Some lenders may fund the same day depending on the time of application.

Is my personal information secure?

+

Yes! We use industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption technology to protect all your personal and financial data. Your information is never sold to third parties without your consent.
